Enhancing traditional play spaces with natural play and creating adventure playgrounds.
We advise on the most appropriate fixed play equipment and natural play features for infants through to middle childhood. We work with destination sites, country parks, schools and local communities. Whether you want to enhance a traditional play space or create a new adventure site, we can help you develop something fresh and inviting. We understand what inspires play – risk, challenge, fun and belonging. Places that:
- provide physical challenges, adventure and exploration
- are manipulable and interactive
- encourage group activities, collaboration and social skills
- are unique and create a unique sense of place
- meet all current safety standards for play
- are acres of fun and adults like them too!

The concept of play is not complicated, but it requires more thought than just adding a swing, a slide and a roundabout. Fixed play equipment is useful and provides fun and challenge for children, but it is just one part of a much larger whole which inspires play.
While destination playgrounds are founded on fixed equipment – those swings, slides and roundabouts – children who know each other and play together regularly have very different needs and requirements. Particularly for schools and local green spaces – where children know each other and play together regularly – it is the whole environment which influences meaningful play.
We understand the requirements for all levels of play and can guide your projects to be successful, well used, well loved and much visited.
