The concept of play is not complicated, but it requires more thought than just adding a swing, a slide and a roundabout. Fixed play equipment is useful and provides fun and challenge for children, but it is just one part of a much larger whole which inspires play.
While destination playgrounds are founded on fixed equipment – those swings, slides and roundabouts – children who know each other and play together regularly have very different needs and requirements.
