Project Overview
We worked with the Worcestershire Countryside Service lead by Rob Stevenson and Rachel Datlan to create a brand new area on the steep embankment. We also re-designed and created a toddler play space next to the cafe. We sourced play equipment that encourages ‘group’ activities and chose one off play equipment pieces and installed ourselves with a coherent landscape providing the foundation. Both areas were designed to fit with the ethos and ‘look’ of this popular visitors park. Since when, visitor numbers have been rising steeply, so we take it that our landscapes were part of the reason for the increase. It is a lovely place to visit and has that natural feel combined with woodland, open space, a good cafe, space for dog walkers, and free car parking. Worcestershire has always been a great place to live and work – and this is exemplified by the Country Park.
We added some birch trees (2011) to create a tunnel for this scramble climb feature.
See the scramble climb on the left of the picture 2021, trees doing very nicely and enhancing the sense of place.
