We made a small visitors garden at the front of the school.  Then one of the classes learned about mosaics and decoration and created some great art with pebbles and mortar.  They washed the stones and set out a dry version, before embedding the design in a moist concrete mix.  Nice work gang!

Personalisation of such school projects embeds ownership and affection.  For children, it is this real participation and engagement that creates special places.
