Updating a Small Urban Playground

The outdoor area here was tight and restricted.  During the consultation, there were requests for various items of play equipment but the area did not have enough free space to allow such features.  There was an absence of a delightful place to sit and listen to a story, talk to a friend or hang out with mates…and we anticipated that a small 3m x 3m space would allow a small turf roofed shelter as a multifunctional play and learning zone.

There was also a particularly unlovely neighbours fence, which we transformed simply with the aim of establishing some multistem small trees and shrubs….ans therby adding to the sense of place and bringing some natural elements into the rubber surfaced area.
