About Us

Our Process

How we work

We believe that good working relationships & lines of communication are essential to successful outcomes.  From initial contact we encourage regular meetings with main decision makers and key stakeholders.  We are always very happy to give illustrated presentations to board/governors, parish councillors, school and local community members.

 Our process

  • Book a free remote consultation by email, phone or our contact page
  • Discuss your project with a few site images
  • If it’s a good match, we can arrange for a site visit to meet the main decision makers and explore the potential of the project.
  • Following that, we will give you an overview and proposal of how to achieve your requirements and the costs involved.

Typical Project Stages

Site familiarity and understanding your requirements is the essential part of our ‘design’ and ’design and build’ process. The following Stages are recommended to achieve the most effective outcomes for your project.

Stage 1: Site familiarity – visit, analysis, feasibility & potential budget
Set the Brief, project requirements, site history etc., rationale for the concept design.
Verbal and written summation and recommendations of cost effective options and alternatives.
Recommended concept design. All presented as PDF document.

Stage 2: Sketch Design
Presentation of initial layout for consideration and feedback. Followed by revision sketch.
Precedent photographs to illustrate. Materials suggestions. Cost estimates of build. Timescales.

Note: many of our design and build projects have only needed to go to Stage 2 prior to installation.

Stage 3: Final Concept Design
This stage is recommended if the design graphics are being used for fundraising, imparting to community, exhibition etc.
Typically 2 x A2/A1 display size, fully rendered, with description and precedents. Elevations and cross sections as necessary to impart the design.

Following Stage 3, Leaves of Green can quote for installation, or alternatively:

Stage 4: Optional Pre-installation Phase (usually not necessary for ‘design and build’)
Key considerations for potential contractors.  Detail design drawings and recommended specifications as necessary.
Materials suppliers, quantities, recommended specifications, timescales, involving community effectively etc.
